Margaret River Luxury Escape Cape Lodge Western Australia

Day 1: Margaret River Luxury Escape

Your Margaret River Luxury Escape begins bright and early at your Perth accommodation, where your experienced guide will greet you. After coffee, travel south to your first destination, the seaside town of Busselton. Take a stroll along the world’s second-longest jetty, stretching 1.8 km out into Geographe Bay, then descend eight metres below the ocean surface. From the vantage point of the iconic underwater observatory, be immersed in a breathtaking artificial reef, host to vividly coloured tropical and sub-tropical marine life.

By lunchtime, you’ll be pulling up a seat for a gourmet lunch in Margaret River followed by an afternoon tasting your way through the iconic wine region. Come 6 pm, check into your lakeside room at one of Australia’s best boutique hotels. Set among 40 acres of manicured parkland and vineyards, Cape Lodge is an idyllic base to escape the demands of everyday life. Tonight, you will dine at the celebrated Cape Lodge Restaurant, where Margaret River produce sourced from the land and sea is centre-stage of the classically prepared French-influenced menu.

Day 2: Margaret River Luxury Escape

Wake up to the sound of birds, not your alarm and linger in bed as long as you please. Take your time indulging in a gourmet breakfast served in your room, then unwind during a one-and-a-half- hour spa treatment of your choice. Next on your agenda is a hands-on gourmet cooking class with one of Australia’s most loved and recognised chefs –Tony Howell. Learn to recreate a signature seasonal dish, then sit down for a wine-paired lunch.

Rested, refreshed and nourished, the remainder of the afternoon is dedicated to connecting with the Margaret River landscape, and the people who call it home. Wadandi custodian-Josh “Koomal” Whiteland will introduce you to the world’s oldest living culture on a two-hour private tour of Cape Naturaliste. Learn about native flora and fauna, bush medicine and hear local stories as you wander along a section of the iconic Cape to Cape Track. Then, meet at a private meeting place where you will see an artefact display and be mesmerised by a live didgeridoo performance. This is a truly soul- stirring experience.

Before day’s end, soak in breathtaking vistas at one of the most romantic and secluded spots in the Margaret River wine region – Bunker Bay. Finally, wander down to the Other Side of the Moon restaurant at the Pullman Bunker Bay Resort. Sample the contemporary Australian menu underpinned by Indigenous ingredients and watch sunset and moonrise over the ocean.

Your Margaret River escape culminates in a tailor-made sourdough workshop at the iconic One Table Farm and Cooking School in Cowaramup. I absolutely loved my 10 day trip across the Nullarbor from Adelaide to Perth, there was not one thing I would change. The Nullarbor was on my bucket list of things to do and you can’t do it any better than living out of a swag. If you … More get the chance to swim with the seals and dolphins do it, it’s worth every cent. I just loved seeing the kangaroos on the beach over in WA and the huge trees and the bush walks we did. Don’t think about it just go ahead and do it.

We did a whole day tour of Port Lincoln and it was truly the highlight of our trip. Our tour guide, Ian, was just so friendly and knowledgably about the area. It was definitely worth it and we are so glad we did it to discover the best … More of Port Lincoln!

What an amazing way to see the Eyre Peninsula! Hassie has got to be the most informed person of the EP, and wow does he have some stories.
I will definitely be getting on an Adelaide Hills tour asap and maybe even one of their WA tours!
    … More

We recently were treated to a fully guided whale watching tour and have been raving about it ever since. We saw things we were in awe of, went to places that we can't wait to return, learned things about the area that were amazing … More and stayed in beds that were oh so comfortable. We would recommend Untamed Escapes to anyone who wants to get the best of the Eyre Peninsula and Nullarbor Plain during whale watching season!

4 days of exploring and experiencing the Margaret River region. Wow wow wow, loved the visual delights, nutritional sensations, the slowness of yoga sessions, the workshops of sourdough making at One Table Farm; the education received from … More the Spice Mistress and her delightful food. The experience of tasting gin for the first time and walking an 8km section of the Cape to Cape. Thank you so much Jodie, Gem and Riley for making me feel so welcomed, you looked after us girls in every way. Glamping at Fair Harvest was a treat I’ll never forget 🤩🤩🤩

In March 2021 four of us did the Best of Port Lincoln and Coffin Bay and we still talk about our experience when we catch up. From the minute we were greeted at the airport by our tour guide Ian the fun began. Ian was a fountain of information … More and he certainly made our experience memorable. He showed us many amazing sights, our hotel accommodation was A1 and our food was 10/10. Getting into our waders and sitting down at a semi-submerged water pavilion, shucking oysters washed down with some wine was an experience we will never forget. We will be back!!!
