If uncovering remote turquoise oceans and pristine coastal wilderness while indulging in an award-winning farm-to-fork experience sounds like your kind of day, then this tour is perfect for you.
Start your journey by meeting your Untamed Escapes Guide and taking a short drive down the coast to board CBO1 for a taste of world-famous Coffin Bay oysters. Experience Coffin Bay offers two exceptional oyster experiences from which to choose. The rate includes the “Short & Sweet” 90-minute tour, which includes a cruise to the first-ever Coffin Bay oyster farm. As you sit back and relax, a veteran oyster farmer will share the history of oyster farming and the secrets behind producing world-class oysters. Learn how to shuck like a pro and have the option to purchase local sparkling wine to complement these delicious morsels.
For an even more immersive experience, upgrade to the 3-hour Oyster Farm and Bay Tour. This extended journey cruises 16km into the crystal-clear turquoise waters to an oyster farm. Along the way, you’ll marvel at the stunning Coffin Bay coastline, with views of secluded islands, pillowy beaches, and, if you’re lucky, playful pods of dolphins. This tour includes waders, allowing you to walk among the oyster beds in the calm waters. This optional upgrade costs an additional $95 per person.
Your day also includes visiting Coffin Bay National Park, home to some of the Eyre Peninsula’s best beaches, including Almonta Beach, and a habitat for many kangaroos and emus. You will also enjoy a relaxing lunch at Oyster HQ, where you can enjoy a range of local produce sourced from the surrounding sea and land while overlooking the bay.
Finally, back in Port Lincoln, you’ll be treated to sweeping views at Boston Bay Wines. Perched above the Southern Ocean, you can sample a range of premium wines before being dropped off at your Port Lincoln accommodation between 5 pm and 5:30 pm.
Private Tour Upgrade
Take your day to the next level and upgrade your experience to a private tour when booking. The key differences are that you will travel in a 4WD, which will allow for an off-road adventure in Coffin Bay National Park, and you will also enjoy a premium lunch menu at Oyster HQ.
The private tour rate includes the Short and Sweet 90-minute cruise, and if you would like to upgrade to the 3-hour cruise, the same $95pp fee will apply on top of the private rate.
To book a private tour for the standard departure days, just add the upgrade to your cart when booking. If you would like to travel on a different day, which is not available to instant book in the calendar, please contact us to check availability and book.
Know Before You Go
Winter departures
From June to August, we operate the small group scheduled tours less often due to lower demand and outsourced suppliers closing for winter. However, we are still running our Private Tours, which can be tailor-made to your liking. If the day you want to book is unavailable on the calendar, please contact us to book directly.
- Due to Experience Coffin Bay Tours closing for July and August, any bookings in July will include the Oyster Farm Tour instead.
- Book this tour and our 1-Day Port Lincoln Tour and receive $30 off per person. Just add the second tour to your cart when you check out.
- If you would like to upgrade to the 3-hour cruise for $95pp, you need to add this to your cart when booking.
- Dietary requirements can be catered for; please advise these when booking.
- Small group tours are operated on a coaster bus with a maximum of 20 people.
- Private tours are operated in a 7-seater Executive Landcruiser and require a minimum of two people, or the Private Tour Single Traveller rate applies. The private tour includes extra oysters.
- This tour requires a minimum of four people to operate. In the unlikely event, this number is not met, you will be given two options. First, transfer your booking to another day. If this is not suitable, we will provide you with a full refund.
- Itinerary changes may occur to ensure we provide the best possible experience. Weather conditions in Australia can change quickly, and our experienced guides will always put the safety of our passengers first. Any itinerary changes will be communicated to the Group in advance.

Had a brilliant 3 days, 2 nights swag camping on kangaroo island with Chris our guide! We managed to see so much of the island including spotting wild koalas, going to some beautiful beaches for swim stops such as Emu bay, Stokes bay and … More Hanson bay. The swag camping was so fun and we could star gaze and seen the wallaby’s s at the campsite. The food was always good and had plenty of options. Such a great group and a really fun trip! Zoe was also a great addition and help to the tour!!

My husband and I did a 3 day kangaroo island tour. It was very fun. We experienced sleeping in a tent, do some of a bit stuffs for making lunch and clean up. We saw a lot of wildlife in KI. Too bad we missed the hike as we are doing the … More dolphin swim. But our guide Hannah did a great job of explaining and showing us what KI is all about. It was a short 3 days and would love to experience more of KI when we have the time to go back again.

This had everything - swag camping , star studded night skies, beautiful beaches, scenic drives, spectacular hikes, picnic lunches & a lot of wildlife … More ( yes, Kangaroos wake you up in the morning - I am not kidding !! ).
The selected camping parks and the facilities available were impressive, can't complain. Enough time to explore and enjoy places.
Have to mention - Brendon and Jackson - they were the best guides , really appreciate their hard work, effort and patience to give all of us a wonderful tour experience. The food was delicious, in-plenty and always on-time, never felt disappointed 🙂 .
