Day 1: Friday
After being greeted by your guide, it’s time to leave the city behind and prepare for four days of bliss and adventure on your yoga retreat from Perth. Pop into the quirky Crooked Carrot Café and Farm in Myalup for morning tea with a twist. It won’t be long until we arrive in paradise, Meelup Beach. After a beachside picnic of fresh local produce, it’s time for the first yoga experience of the tour, but you won’t need a mat.
Meet legendary local yogi and founder of the South West Yoga Fest, Heather Starr, for a session of SUP yoga. After a beach introduction to the floating yoga studio, anchor down on your stand-up paddleboard. With the sky above you, sea below and surrounded by nature, sun and salt, what could be more blissful?
Many laughs later and feeling energised, it’s time to embark on a two-hour hike to Cape Naturalist. Part of Leeuwin-Naturalise National Park, this hike features incredible coastal vistas at every turn. After a seriously fun workout, indulge with a decadent chocolate cookie and coffee at Gabriel’s Chocolate, where they transform the humble raw cacao bean into delicate goodness.
Take a short drive to Fair Harvest, where our glamping tents await. Located in the quiet natural surroundings of a permaculture farm, this unique property features food gardens, a farm cafe, a yoga barn and forest walks.
Day 2: Saturday
Start the day with a gentle yin yoga session followed by a nutritious breakfast. Visit the eclectic Margaret River Markets to collect local fresh produce for later. Then it’s time to be nurtured through nature and immerse yourself into the boundless beauty of the Cape to Cape Track on a half-day hiking experience led by local holistic healer Dan. Recentre through mindfulness, ritual and ceremony as you’re guided through a unique Shamanic light meditation.
After a beach picnic and swim, return for an afternoon of relaxation and rest. Enjoy strolling the permaculture gardens, wandering the 100 acre woods, or simply put up your feet after your invigorating hike. There will also be an optional yoga session in the barn at Fair Harvest for those who wish to participate.
Tonight’s dinner will be prepared by local identity Sarina the Spice Mistress. Sarina will guide you through a Spice Masterclass and prepare some flavoursome food whilst you gain a unique insight into the healing properties of spices.
Day 3: Sunday
This morning, balance yourself during a Hatha yoga session and glam up for an afternoon tasting your way around the Margaret River region. Visit iconic vineyards for wine and cheese tastings and enjoy some free time to wander the main street of Margaret River, home to an eclectic mix of boutique shops and galleries. Choose from one of many great cafes to grab lunch and watch the world go by.
This afternoon visit the Margaret River Distilling Co. for a ‘Tour and Taste’ experience at Giniversity. Sip on four flavours of gin with garnishes as you soak up the knowledge from passionate gin creator and manager of the venue, Ben. Complete the day with the culmination of fresh local produce that we have collected along the way—celebrating health and new friendships on our last night together.
Day 4: Margaret River to Perth
With your body and mind awakened, a sound meditation session with a local healer will take you to the next level on your last day. Sound healing has ancient roots in cultures all over the world, including Aboriginal tribes who have used the didgeridoo as a sound healing instrument for over 40,000 years. After this uplifting experience, we’ll pack up camp and head off for the final experience of the tour.
Meet Tim and Cree at One Table Farm & Cooking School for a tailor-made sourdough making demonstration to learn how to create the perfect sourdough. Relax over lunch, tasting a variety of breads and farm to plate organic produce. Take a walk around the sustainable farm they have created from scratch and learn about their inspiring vision.
Inspired and rejuvenated, it’s time to jump on the bus one last time to travel back to Perth, arriving around 5 pm.
