TOUR ITINERARY
Our Port Lincoln tour starts at the pop-up Visitor Information Centre at the wharf precinct. Travel to Fishery Bay for postcard-perfect views of the Southern Ocean and white sandy beaches.
Next, we’ll wind along Whalers Way for jaw-dropping coastal scenery, from rock pools to epic limestone cliffs. This private property has a rich history and features some of the oldest rock formations in South Australia. Keep your eyes peeled for wildlife from the land, sea and air, including a colony of fur seals that call this region home.
Our next stop is at Mikkira Station Koala Sanctuary, where you can get up close with some of the 200 wild koalas residing among the mana gum mallee. Home to the only wild koala population on the peninsula, as well as kangaroos and emus, this sanctuary is a must for wildlife lovers. In addition, the on-site historic homestead offers a glimpse back in time to the lives of the region’s pioneers. Enjoy a cuppa whilst connecting with nature.
Next, visit one of a few places on the planet where stromatolites exist. These 3.5-billion-year-old living fossils are weird and wonderful microbial reefs that are still alive and have been forming over billions of years. Take in the views of over Sleaford Beach lookout before being dropped back to the wharf in plenty of time for your departure.
Know Before You Go
- This tour departs twice on cruise ship days at 8.30 am, returning at 12.30 pm. Or 1 pm, returning at 5 pm. Rest assured, we will have you back at the terminal in plenty of time before the ship leaves. In the extremely unlikely case of a breakdown or emergency, we have resources and infrastructure available to ensure passengers will still be at the terminal at the required time.
- This tour requires a minimum of eight people to operate. In the unlikely event this number is not met, you will be given two options: 1. transfer your booking to another day, or, if this is not suitable, 2. we will provide you with a full refund.
- For people who may suffer from back problems, please be advised this tour does travel on some unsealed roads in Whalers Way.

The swag camping was so fun and we could star gaze and seen the wallaby’s s at the campsite. The food was always good and had plenty of options. Such a great group and a really fun trip! My husband and I did a 3 day kangaroo island tour. It was very fun. We experienced sleeping in a tent, do some of a bit stuffs for making lunch and clean up. We saw a lot of wildlife in KI. Too bad we missed the hike as we are doing the … More dolphin swim. But our guide Hannah did a great job of explaining and showing us what KI is all about. It was a short 3 days and would love to experience more of KI when we have the time to go back again.

This had everything - swag camping , star studded night skies, beautiful beaches, scenic drives, spectacular hikes, picnic lunches & a lot of wildlife … More ( yes, Kangaroos wake you up in the morning - I am not kidding !! ).
The selected camping parks and the facilities available were impressive, can't complain. Enough time to explore and enjoy places.
Have to mention - Brendon and Jackson - they were the best guides , really appreciate their hard work, effort and patience to give all of us a wonderful tour experience. The food was delicious, in-plenty and always on-time, never felt disappointed 🙂 .
